Legacy Gel
Years ago I was asked by a well-regarded hunter-jumper barn and by the owner of our regional school of animal massage (see NWSAM link) to formulate a sports/massage gel using arnica for their horses.
The result, Legacy Gel, is made in my kitchen in small batches from herbal extracts of arnica, yucca, eucalyptus, witch hazel, and menthol. It is based on a very nice, silky ultrasound gel and is suitable for many uses to support joints and assist in muscle recovery, as well as a topical for bruises, tendonitis, and sprains.
Arnica works by penetrating and gobbling up free radicals created when muscles or joints are bruised, inflamed, or sore. It can act very quickly to reduce discomfort and bruising. It can be used before or after work, as often as you like.
Yucca, eucalyptus, and witch hazel contribute their own well-known healing properties, and yucca adds to the silky texture of this gel.
Menthol is a tried-and-true therapeutic for arthritis and other joint discomfort, stimulating local circulation to carry away inflammatory debris and offering some topical analgesic effect.
For those who prefer lavendar to menthol, there is Legacy Lavendar. Lavendar has its own properties which seem to soothe.
